LEGO Star Wars Theme 10th Anniversary |

LEGO Started with the Star Wars theme in 1999 with a collection of 14 sets as a test run… This has probably been the most popular theme produced and has resulted in 189 sets up to 2009. 2010 carries the theme of the Clone Wars on from 2009 as well as the Classic with 17 sets announced so far |

1999—14 Sets released Mindstorms was released with 9748-Droid Developers Kit 2000—20 Sets released This year saw the start of the ”Ultimate Collector Series” with the 7171-TIE Interceptor. 2001—10 Sets released This year the first Technic sets were available with the Star Wars theme and two more ”Ultimate Collector Series” sets were released. 2002—22 Sets released Another four Technic sets were released as well as three more of the ”Ultimate Collector Series” 2003—19 Sets released This year produced a run of miniature versions. 2004—14 Sets released Saw even more miniature sets as well as two in the ”Ultimate Collector Series” 2005—18 Sets released This seemed to be a comeback year with alot of great sets and the release of the first videogame ”LEGO Star Wars: The videogame” 2006—10 Sets released Not many sets this year but the quality was awesome and another videogame was released ”LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy” 2007—15 Sets released The largest set LEGO ever produced came this year with the Ultimate Collectors Edition Millenium Falcon with its 5195 pieces. The videogame ”LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga” was also released. 2008—20 Sets released The Clone Wars take over the theme and what a wonderful series 2009—27 Sets released Another great year with some wonderful sets from the classic era and the Clone Wars 2010—21 Sets advertised so far... Looking good so far although there are some re-releases |

The popularity of the LEGO Star Wars theme and the second hand market for these items is amazing, with over 7000 matches in January and in excess of 10000 matches near to christmas on ebay alone.
It is by far the most popular theme that LEGO has put out there and the fans cant seem to get enough of it, me being one of the many!
